Description :

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Mission, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of projects under the overall Migrant Assistance Division portfolio.


  1. Manage the implementation of assigned projects, overseeing financial, administrative and technical aspects, in line with IOM’s policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements;
  2. Prepare work plans, inception reports, project visibility and communication plans and M&E framework for assigned projects;
  3. Lead the mission’s work in protecting children on the move and related issues on child protection;
  4. Track assigned project expenditures in close cooperation with Resource Management Unit, and prepare monthly funding requests for the project activities;
  5. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Government entities, implementing partners, UN agencies, donor and other stakeholders;
  6. Prepare regular reports and ensure proper information exchange on all operational aspects of projects between IOM, the programme’s donors and other stakeholders;
  7. Assist the project manager in preparing training plans/training reports and conduct the training for local project staff, as assigned;
  8. Contribute to project development, identifying new project possibilities, in relation to expressed governmental needs, donors’ priorities and in line with IOM’s mandate and strategy;
  9. Plan and coordinate the delivery of meetings, workshops and trainings in a timely manner;
  10. Represent IOM at seminars and meetings, as well as other events aimed at promoting IOM’s image and activities;
  11. Undertake duty travel as required;
  12. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in International Relations, Social Science, Law, Humanitarian Affairs or related field with 2 years professional experience;  or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in International Relations, Social Science, Law, Humanitarian Affairs or related field–with 4 years professional experience;
  • Knowledge of social development issues as well as general migration related issues in the country and the region;
  • Solid knowledge of project development, administration and evaluation concepts and procedures;
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relations with relevant Government counterparts, international organizations, civil society organizations/NGOs, and private sector entities;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint;
  • Experience in supporting all aspects of project management and familiarity with international standards is advantageous, preferably within the United Nations or within the international humanitarian field.


English and local language are required.
